AIxDESIGN is a self-funded community organisation conducting critical AI research for the benefit of people, not for profit.

AIxD exists for and because of people like you. While our work creates impact, unfortunately it doesn’t pay the bills (tragic - it really should). The AIxD Operations team consists of 4 working-class hunnies that do everything you know and love us for, including:

• publishing our research in the open on our website ↗︎, on our Notion ↗︎, or our Insta ↗︎ and Linkedin ↗︎ ,
• creating and curating practical resources like this ↗︎, or the Jobs Board ↗︎, or our Are.na ↗︎,
• hosting public and community events ↗︎,
• sending our monthly newsletter ↗︎,
• maintaining infrastructure for us all to do that (Slack, Notion, website, design), and
• the costs of our tech stack, legal costs, payroll, taxes, and so on.

Launching the AIxDESIGN Community Supporter Model 💐

All donations will go straight to funding AIxD community operations. The more we raise from the community the more we can do community-initiated projects (see our Community Wishlist ↗︎), and less "client" work (like private workshops, confidential research, etc).

We acknowledge our community includes people from all walks of life, and we appreciate all contributions. We offer a tiered supporter model to ensure that everyone can contribute at a level that aligns with their financial situation and the value they derive from our work. We wrote a small guide to help you decide which tier is right for you.

1. I am an AIxD Supporter ✨ Recommended ✨

By contributing, you’re helping us stay alive! All donations will go straight to funding AIxD community operations including helping the team earn a living wage, maintaining the quality and consistency of our work.

• What You Pay: €5+ / month
• This option may be for you if:
  • You have benefited from AIxD's work, meaning you've shared AIxD's work with colleagues and friends, or follow us for inspo
  • You have a "listener" relationship with AIxD, meaning you don't frequently share insights or feedback with the AIxD community on Slack or socials

2. I am a Sponsor

For our full-time employment bbs! All donations will go straight to funding AIxD community operations including helping the team earn a living wage, maintaining the quality and consistency of our work.

• What You Pay: €20+ / month
• This option may be for you if:
  • you work full-time at a BIG™ company (like a global multinational, an agency, or funded startup);
  • you have referenced AIxD at work, or used our insights to do your work well, or
  • your employer will reimburse or match your charitable contributions. We are officially registered as a non-profit org! Hit us up for the documentation your employer needs to make this happen.

3. I am a Starving Artist 🌈

• What You Pay: €2+ / month
• This option may be for you if:
  • You are a student, a starving artist, or someone in precarious work.
  • You have a "contributor" relationship with AIxD, meaning you regularly share insights and feedback with the AIxD community on Slack or socials.

Note: Because of EU regulations, VAT will be added to your purchase upon check-out. Unfortunately we can not make this optional or inclusive. If you have a VAT ID, you can enter it at checkout or later into their invoice to get a refund (more information here).
